    Third Farthings

The Third Farthing was struck solely for use in Malta. The Maltese were using their own Maltese Grain which was valued at three Grains to one Farthing. It was decided to strike a coin of the same value as the Maltese Grain so the Third Farthing was made and it was a third of the weight of a Farthing.
